Built Environment: Production (13-08-08)

Production of the Built Environment
Regarding to the Wikipedia, the phrase built environment refers to the manmade surroundings that provide the setting for human activity, ranging from the large-scale civic surroundings to the personal places. One of the element of the production of the built environment is the person who involved in arrangement. He or she has to take consideration about the arrangement of the built environment, the sequence of the built environment, natural resources and the rules which are set to be followed.

The 6 basic elements of the production of the built environment are:
(a) site [suitable place or location]
(b) rule [laws, akta-akta, kanun, adat, believes and convention]
(c) actor [individual, institution, constructor, practitioner, producer]
(d) intention [objective, aim, desire and motives]
(e) act [practise, do, construct and behave]
(f) product [housing, income and money earned]

Intention + act = product obtained

Intention <----> Knowledge
In order to forge intention, we need to have enough knowledge. We need to understand inner and outer of one thing, not simply giving conclusion after seeing the outer layer or seeing only the make up but also the content inside. We have to seek knowledge through using our eyes, brain and ears. (Example:Reading is saying out a word using our brain, whereas reciting is saying out a word from memory without using our brain).

Before we absorb the knowledge we need to analyse and comprehend it well. The same things goes to ideologies and concepts that we believe and take it as the principles of our livings.

Rule:What ism do you hold? Where is your source of believes come from?
Ones believes can be came from parents, relatives, schoolmates, friends, collegues and idols. There are some ideologies:- one of them is taoism. Taoism (Daoism) is the English name referring to a variety of related Chinese philosophical and religious traditions and concepts. These traditions influenced East Asia for over two thousand years and some have spread internationally. Taoist propriety and ethics emphasize the Three Jewels of the Tao; namely, compassion, moderation, and humility. Taoist thought focuses on wu wei ("non-action"), spontaneity, humanism, and emptiness. [quoted from Wikipedia]

In my point of view, the truth must be seek or not, I don't really have a stand. But one thing we should count on:the curiousity inside one man. I believe the curiousity is a natural characteristic of one person. We are meant to do research and we have scientist, and why are we seeking for the truth? It's due to curiousity. Being rooted on the ground; before we know the existance of gravity, we wonder why we stand and not fly? We revealed the answer and we can improve or live, promoting our technologies from one level to another and advancing to create the ideal world that we hunger for.

Where YOU come from?
The concept: Where did human came from? Monkeys? Apes? or Adam? However, I believe that we all came from the gens of E.T. This is not my theory, but is a theory from an article that i had read before. According to some scientists, they believe that the Earth is the testing ground/field to E.T. Different kinds of E.T. released different kinds of gens at different corner of the Earth. So, nowadays, we have different kinds of races over the whole world. It is so close to logic but something we cannot explain.
